ABOUT
Vikash Nowlakha ISC is a cinematographer working across feature films and commercials.
Over a career spanning nearly three decades, he has photographed some of India's most acclaimed and commercially successful films, alongside an extensive body of advertising work across Asia, Europe and North America.
Originally trained in philosophy and environmental studies, Vikash came to filmmaking through a fascination with people, culture, and the stories that shape how we see the world and search for meaning. For him, cinematography is not simply a question of aesthetics, but of value: what we choose to look at, how we choose to feel, and ultimately what we consider beautiful.
He is drawn to work that combines strong visual language with emotional truth, whether in an intimate character drama or a large-scale studio production.
Based between Mumbai and Bali.
